In some cases and depending on who your email provider is the activation email for your ad may get blocked, filtered or deleted.

Windstream.net: By default Windstream will delete your activation email before you get it. You must goto Settings > Junk Mail > Select option: Place in Junk Mail folder graymail before you post your ad. Your activation email is then delivered to your graymail folder.
Yahoo: No reported issues.

Map marker color indicates post freshness. Ads less than 30 days old are green. Ads between 30 and 60 days old are light green. Ads that are older than 60 days are yellow. All ads expire at 90 days, so this can be helpful in determining when to contact someone or just to know how long ago an ad was posted.
